LINDSEY LODGE HOSPICE COLLECTING AHEAD OF OLDHAM CLASH

19 November 2016

"Any support you can give is truly appreciated" is the message from the representatives of Lindsey Lodge Hospice, who will be bucket collecting this afternoon.

Lindsey Lodge Hospice offers free care to those who need it most and without the support of people like you, they wouldn’t be able to offer their professional and caring services to those who need it most.

Over 150 local people every week pass through their doors with life-threatening illnesses such as cancer, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease and heart or renal failure.

The charity offers hope, comfort and bring precious memories to patients and loved ones who said they feel “cocooned in love” and have been cared for by “angels with open arms”.

At Christmas they make patients and loved ones feel “as special as possible” with festive cooking, entertainment and of course 24-hour care even on Christmas day, as well as the chance for loved ones to stay over in purpose-built accommodation.

The hub of the hospice is their day care centre which provides symptom management and a place to socialise in homely surroundings and enjoy therapeutic craft activities.

To bring as much joy as possible to patients Lindsey Lodge Hospice also has a hairdressing salon on site, therapies and a lymphoedema clinic that helps make them feel more relaxed and comfortable.

The message from Lindsey Lodge Hospice representatives this afternoon is: "Thank you in advance for helping us to raise £2.4 million a year to run this vital service for local people."
