Q&A: JORDAN CLARKE

12 May 2016

We asked you to send in your questions for the full-back via the club’s website and social media channels earlier this season. Here are Jordan Clarke’s answers…

_.deji_witty_banter._, via Instagram, asks: What is the best kit you have worn in your whole career?
JC:
“To be honest, I really like this year’s Scunny home one.”

Nathan Taylor, via email, asks: What is the worst kit you’ve ever worn?
JC:
“It was probably the first ever kit I was bought by my parents to be honest. It was the all-black Manchester United kit for some reason. I don’t support Manchester United, I support Arsenal, so I’d have to say that one.”

jay_clark_2004, via Instagram, asks:Who is the toughest player you have played against?
JC: “I’d have to say Gareth Bale in the FA Cup at White Hart Lane when I was playing for Coventry. He’s just a powerhouse and it doesn’t look like he should be but he is. It was just before he moved to Real Madrid, so he was in very good form. I managed to get his shirt as well.”

benjic6, via Instagram, asks: What is your favourite match for the mighty Iron?
JC: “It has to be the Chelsea game.”

_jackmason_, via Instagram, asks: What is the best goal you’ve ever scored?
JC: “That would have to be either my first goal, playing against Barnsley in the Championship or the goal away in the Championship against Cardiff City to make it 1-1.”

Michael Lowe, via Facebook, asks: What is the team spirit like at the moment?
JC: “It’s very good, all the lads get on well with each other.”

Nicola Brooks, via email, asks: Did you play in any other positions growing up?
JC: “Yeah, I’ve played everywhere really. I started off in central midfield before going to right-back, right-wing and up front for a few seasons. I was decent up front and I should maybe do that now. I played striker, left wing and right wing for Coventry for a few games. I’ve never played in goal. I’ve got a good spring, so I might be able to give it a go.”

Ryan Coleman, via email, asks: What is the best goal you have ever seen?
JC: “Either Sammy Clingan against Preston North End at Deepdale on the volley from about 40-yards, which went in off the crossbar, or Franck Moussa for Coventry against Milton Keynes Dons. He ran half the length of the pitch before putting the ball into the top corner of the net.”

Lucy Taylor, via email, asks: What is your favourite sport other than football?
JC: “I’d probably say UFC, which is fighting. I’ve been watching that quite a lot.”

Aaron Thompson, via email, asks: When you retire would you rather be a coach or a pundit?
“Pundit, definitely.”
