ADELAKUN SIGNS NEW CONTRACT

4 March 2016

Iron winger Hakeeb Adelakun has signed a new contract with the club.

The 19-year-old has extended his stay at Glanford Park until June 2018.

“It feels great, and I just want to kick on and help the team fight for a place in the play-offs,” said Adelakun after signing his deal.

“There is a lot to look forward to at the club. It’s great to have that comfort (of knowing my future), and know I can get my head down, focus and help push the club forward.”

Adelakun has made 88 appearances in all competitions for the Iron, scoring eight goals.

He joined United’s academy aged 16 in 2012 after leaving West Ham’s youth set-up and made his debut at the same age, coming on as a substitute in the away game at Tranmere in December of that year.
