MORRIS BECOMES FIRST SUMMER ARRIVAL

15 June 2016

The Iron have completed the signing of Bradford City midfielder Josh Morris on a free transfer.

The 24-year-old pens a three-year contract and reunites with United manager Graham Alexander, who he spent time with at Fleetwood Town during two separate loan spells.

As well as playing on the left side and centre of midfield, he is also capable of playing at left-back.

Born in Preston, Morris began his career with Blackburn Rovers. He made 20 league appearances for them before departing on a permanent basis last summer.

While with the Ewood Park club, he enjoyed loan spells with Yeovil Town, Rotherham United, Carlisle United and latterly Fleetwood, for whom he made 59 league appearances and scored 10 times under Alexander.

A permanent switch to Bradford City followed last summer, and the former England U20 international scored one goal in 16 appearances while at Valley Parade.

He becomes the first signing of the summer and will meet up with his new team-mates for the first time when they return for pre-season training on Tuesday, June 28.

See The Iron PlayerHD today for Morris' first interview straight from signing for United, plus reaction from manager Graham Alexander.
