GRAHAM CAN GET THE BEST OUT OF ME

15 June 2016

The Iron's first signing of the summer Josh Morris can't wait to get going after penning a deal with the club.

Morris joins from Bradford City on a three-year deal and is already looking forward to meeting up with his new teammates in just under two weeks time when they report back for pre-season training.

"I'm glad to be here," he told The Iron PlayerHD.

"There have been discussions over the course of the summer but yesterday it kicked into action and now I can't wait to get started.

"I'm looking forward to starting from scratch here as it didn't really work out at Bradford. The lads did really well here and just missed out last season (on the play-offs). I'm looking forward to meeting them. Hopefully I can come in, give them a lift and help them out."

The 24-year-old comes with experience of all four divisions having featured for Blackburn Rovers six times in the Premier League and a further 14 occasions in the Championship.

Loans at Yeovil, Rotherham, Carlisle and Fleetwood have given him invaluable experience of League One and League Two, including a near ever-present campaign in 2014/15 where he made 45 league appearances for the Cod Army, scoring eight goals.

"I was quite young when I made my debut," he continued.

"I'm now at an age where I feel I need to be playing regularly and that was a big factor for me coming here."

One of those eight strikes for Fleetwood came against the Iron in a 2-2 draw at Highbury, with him also completing 90 minutes against the club in the reverse fixture and he was part of a side managed by current Iron boss Graham Alexander.

"I know Graham really well and that was a big pull for me and the way the club finished last season was a big factor towards my decision," he said.

"I know the way he likes to play football and hopefully he can get the best out of me like he did at Fleetwood and push on from there.

"I'm just looking forward to getting back to playing football again and enjoying my football again. That's the main thing for me."
