IRON BAR SET FOR FACELIFT

12 July 2016

Scunthorpe United are delighted to announce the Iron Bar will undergo a significant refurbishment ahead of the 2016-17 season.

It will be closed for the home pre-season friendlies against Hull City and Rotherham United while the refit takes place, but the new-look bar will be unveiled when we play Bristol Rovers at Glanford Park on Saturday, August 6.

Chairman Peter Swann said: “Having looked around the Iron Bar recently, it’s long overdue a refurbishment. Work will get underway this week, ready for the unveiling at the start of the season.

“With the new stadium move on the horizon, the future is important to us but we have to concentrate on the here and now as well, making sure we get that right too and offer fans the best experience possible.”

Feedback from our 2016 Summer Supporters’ Survey showed that a number of supporters desired better drinking and social facilities at the stadium.

The Iron Bar facelift is part of the ongoing improvements to the club’s facilities, which includes the refurbishment of our club shop, which is now back in-house.

The OSG Bar (in the West Stand) will be open when we play Hull and Rotherham in pre-season, as will the bar in the Clugston Stand.

Supporters can also upgrade to a pre-match meal in our restaurant (Hull details, Rotherham information), or purchase an executive ticket, which includes pre-match, half-time and post-match access to the Sir Ian Botham Executive Lounge (Hull details, Rotherham information).
