Scunthorpe United supporters will be given the chance to shape the matchday atmosphere at each home game this season.
Starting with the pre-season friendly against Hull City on Saturday, July 23, we’re going to get two players to select a list of three songs for while the players warm-up.Through our Twitter site later this week, fans will be able to vote which player’s list they think should be played in the run-up to the game (for example, List A – Kyle Wootton and List B – Jamie Ness), and the list which wins the vote will then be played on matchday.
In addition, the day before every home game we’re going to open it up to you and ask the fans on Scunthorpe-United.co.uk and social media to send in suggestions for what could be played by our matchday DJ. One condition though: we’re looking for big anthems that will get the blood pumping, and which will help get the stadium rocking.
These steps come after taking on board feedback from our 2016 summer survey.
We’re also looking to continue our commitment to local bands and artists. Dirty Sterling, Twisted Revolution and Different Oceans have all received airplay at our games, and if any other local musicians are interested in having their music played on a matchday, get in touch by emailing theiron@scunthorpe-united.co.uk.
Later this week, we will announce our exciting new matchday half-time game and details of how you can get involved!
