SUMMER-MEGAN'S LAP OF THE PITCH

15 February 2016

Seven-year old Summer-Megan Covel completed her lap around the Glanford Park pitch on Saturday.

Following a procedure called lateral column lengthening, where she had the bone removed from her hip and put into her foot, her condition has now improved.

She joined Scunny Bunny on a lap of the pitch prior to Saturday's 1-0 victory over Southend United.

Summer has been nominated by mother Kirsty Wright for the Child of the Year Awards. These awards are held annually in North Lincolnshire and recognise children for something amazing, selfless, going above and beyond, overcoming illness or tragedy, supporting or caring for someone or even saving a life.

Applause from all four stands were witnessed as Summer got round the boundary of the pitch, with Summer raising money for charity from this and a bingo night on Wednesday, February 17 at the Westcliff Community Centre.
