IRON SUPPORT KENYAN SCHOOL

4 February 2016

The Iron have received pictures from Kenya after sending old match kit from the academy.

Scunthorpe United fan Scott Simpson, who is currently serving for the army in the African country, contacted the club about the possibility of sending any unwanted academy kits, no longer used by the football club to kit out the youngsters in claret and blue.

Having sent the package, Scott has now provided pictures of them in use at Braeburn School, Nanyuki, Kenya.

Headmistress Mrs Kioko is pictured with Scott’s son, Harry, and PE teacher Mr Masafu.

Scunthorpe United’s Head of Commercial Martin Ellis said: “When we received the inquiry regarding old academy match kit, we were more than happy to oblige and provide the kits to Scott; who has since distributed them to a school in Kenya.

“It’s great we are able to support causes such as this one and to be able to see pictures of them in use and make a difference at a school in Africa is all the more pleasing.”
