Ben Toner will referee the Iron’s away fixture with Rochdale at Spotland on Saturday.
Toner has already officiated United on the opening day of the season, when Graham Alexander’s men were victorious over Bristol Rovers.So far in the current campaign, the man from Lancashire has produced 65 yellow and three red cards in the 19 matches he’s officiated.
He refereed 28 encounters throughout the last campaign, showing 101 yellow cards and dismissing six players.
He’ll be joined on Saturday by assistant referees Ricky Wootton and Peter Gibbons, with Kevin Sarsfield taking up the role of fourth official.
