LOAN WATCH

1 December 2016

Taking a look at the Iron players currently on loan away from Glanford Park…

As usual, we’ll round up the fortunes of all United’s squad members who are away from the club on loan. Six Scunthorpe players are plying their trade away from the club on a temporary basis and, as ever, Loan Watch has it all covered.

Full back Scott Laird has since chipped in with another goal for Walsall since our last loan watch update, scoring in the Saddlers’ 1-1 away draw with MK Dons. He also played a key part in Tuesday night's 1-0 away win at Sheffield United.

At Stevenage, Jack King has completed three more 90 minutes, featuring in games against Yeovil Town, Accrington and Portsmouth respectively. The Boro took seven out of a possible nine points in those games, to lift themselves within touching distance of the play-off positions.

Striker Kyle Wootton is still in search of his first goal for North Ferriby, who currently sit bottom of the National League. Results for Steve Housham’s side have picked up of late though, with a 2-1 victory over Sutton United the standout scoreline. Levi Sutton joined him there last week, and has made two appearances so far.

Dom Vose’s Grimsby Town side are on the cusp of making into the playoff places, but a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Crawley Town scuppered that somewhat. Personally, Vose has played on two more occasions, coming off the bench in a 2-2 draw with League leaders Carlisle and starting in the defeat at the Checkatrade.com Stadium.

Noel Burdett recently returned to action for Frickley Athletic after recovering fully from the injury he sustained. Meanwhile, Jack Dyche is very near to returning from injury for Ashton United.
