Brendan Malone will referee United’s away encounter with Port Vale this Saturday.
This will be Malone’s first time officiating an Iron match for over three years, having last been the man in the middle when Scunthorpe lost 1-0 at Crewe in 2013.The Wiltshire official officiated the Valiants as recently as last August, when they drew 2-2 away with Swindon Town.
Throughout the 2015-16 campaign, Malone produced 80 yellow and six red cards in the 31 games he took charge of.
He’ll be joined on Saturday by assistant referees Andrew Aylott and Christopher Ward, with Danny Gratton taking up the role of fourth official.
