Defender Jordan Clarke believes replicating the team's performance so far this season will be key to getting all three points at Fleetwood this weekend.

Clarke highlighted the threat Uwe Rosler’s side will pose, but insisted it’s more a case of what the visitors can do.

He told The Iron PlayerHD: “Obviously Fleetwood is going to be a different test. We know what they’re about and we know they’re a good footballing side.

“It’s going to be tough, but as long as we keep our solid base and we keep going in the form that we’re in, then I’m sure we can get a positive result.

“All the boys are in high spirits. We’ve obviously got two good results, and we’re not really thinking too much about them, we’re just focusing purely on the next game."

The full-back has been part of a Scunthorpe back four which has picked up where it left off last season, in only conceding just the one goal so far this season.

Clarke stated that it’s pleasing, and also paid tribute to the club’s coaching staff - who he says have enhanced the defensive solidity.

“That’s definitely carried on from last season, and I think it’s definitely been improved by the coaching staff at the start of this season,” he stated.

“As long as we keep doing what we’re doing, and keep working on what need to keep working on then I’m sure we can continue that."

He too looked back at Tuesday night’s EFL Cup win over Notts County, and stated that United were deserved victors.

“Overall it was a good performance. I think we pretty much dominated the game and created most of the chances,” he added.

“The only difficult part was having to play the extra time, which was tough on the legs for everybody. However, I felt fit, the team felt fit, and owe got the positive result.

“The early mornings in Austria are obviously paying dividends, because the team kept on going. We still had a lot of energy and we were creating chances towards the end."
