The Iron Business Network has announced their next event will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 8am to 10am.
It will see Paul Verrico, Partner at leading international law firm Eversheds, as the guest speaker.Described as a ‘Star Lawyer’ in the leading legal directories, Paul is a corporate criminal defence solicitor-advocate specialising in work related fatalities, corporate manslaughter and serious incidents.
Again held in the Sir Ian Botham Executive Lounge at Glanford Park, the event will provide a fantastic opportunity to network with a variety of businesses from around the area over some breakfast in the unique surroundings of Scunthorpe United’s home venue.
There were 55 attendees at the last event and we are confident that will grow this time round.
Head of Commercial at Scunthorpe United Football Club, Martin Ellis, commented: "Following on from our last event in January which was a huge success, we are pleased to confirm the next breakfast will take place in April, with Paul Verrico joining us for the morning to provide an insight into recent changes to Health and Safety sentencing which affect all organisations, from colleges to cafes to shops to big manufacturing organisations."
Paul added: "My work involves daily interactions with the Health and Safety Executive, the Police and the Environment Agency. I hope to be able to tell a few stories from the dock and advise attendees on the best ways to avoid being on the wrong end of the law in this difficult area. I’ll bring along copies of the new guidelines for everyone to take home with them."
The price of the Iron Business Network Breakfast Event is £10, which will include a choice of breakfast rolls, pastries and refreshments, and is to be paid prior to the event to help us gauge numbers for our catering team.
The Iron Business Network has been set up by the commercial team at Scunthorpe United Football Club with the aim of linking commercial partners within the local business community through a series of regular networking events.
These will facilitate and help accelerate the development of informal and potentially rewarding business relationships with like-minded individuals that have an emotional connection with the football club and the local community across North Lincolnshire and beyond.
