GETTING TO CREWE ALEXANDRA

A guide of how to get to Crewe Alexandra, where United are in action this Saturday.

The journey from Scunthorpe to Crewe is likely to take around 2 hours 30 minutes, with an approximate distance of 120 miles.

At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Doncaster Road/A18. Then at the next roundabout take the 1st exit onto M181 heading to Humber Bridge/Doncaster/M180. After 2 miles, take the exit on the right onto M180 toward Doncaster for 12.2 miles. Then take the exit onto M18 toward M1/Doncaster for 20 miles before merging onto the M1. 20 miles later at junction 28, take the A38 exit to A615/Derby/Matlock, then at the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto A38. 13.5 miles later at the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Abbey Hill/A38 and continue to follow A38 for 2.8 miles.

At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Kingsway/A38 before taking the 2nd exit onto A38 at the next roundabout. After 1.5 miles there will be a slight left onto A516 which you continue on for 2.8 miles. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit and stay on A516 before taking the 2nd exit at the next roundabout, 1.6 miles later, onto Derby Road/A516. At the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto the A50 ramp to Uttoxeter/Stoke/Sadbury/Doveridge. Then merge onto A50. 5.2 miles later at the roundabout take the 2nd exit and stay on A50, and that is the same case for the next two roundabouts, which are 0.9 miles away and 8.6 miles away. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Uttoxeter/A50 and follow for 6 miles. At the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto the A500 ramp to Nantwich/City Centre/Hanley/Stoke/A5006. Merge onto Queensway/A500 and follow for 9.6 miles.

At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on A500. 2.2 miles later, at RB1, take the 2nd exit and stay on A500, before doing the same 1.2 miles later at RB2. 1.2 miles later at RB3, take the 1st exit onto B5071. Turn right onto Crewe Road/B5071 and then in 1.4 miles there is a slight right onto Gresty Road and the destination will be on the right.

BY TRAIN
To get to Crewe just under an hour before kick-off, you will need to get the 11:08 train from Scunthorpe to Manchester Piccadilly which will arrive at 13:06. Then you will need to get the train at 13:30 from Manchester Piccadilly to Crewe which will arrive at 14:05. With the train station just round the corner, it is an easy walk to the Alexandra Stadium.

PUBS AND GRUB
The supporters club at the ground does allow small number of away fans in. There is also the Royal Hotel on Nantwich Road which allows away fans in, and the away section does show Sky Sports too. There is also a chip shop across the road.

There is also a pub called the Brocklebank, which is popular with away fans and does show Sky Sports. They also offer parking for £2.50.

There is also a wide selection of food inside the ground.
