DYCHE & BURDETT SIGN PROFESSIONAL CONTRACTS

18 April 2016

The Iron can confirm both Noel Burdett and Jack Dyche have signed their first professional contracts with the club.

Offered deals in mid-March, the second-year apprentices have now put pen to paper, signing a one-year deal with a further year's option in the club's favour.

Dyche has made 22 appearances for the youth team this season, scoring 15 goals, while Burdett has made 17 appearances, netting on five occasions. Both have also made a number of appearances for the development side this season.

Leeds-born Dyche arrived at the club midway through his under-16s campaign two years ago after being released from his hometown club. After a trial and a battle with other clubs in the area to sign him, Dyche became a Scunthorpe United scholar and has since never looked back in his progression.

Meanwhile former South Axholme student Burdett has progressed through the whole cycle, joining the club at Under-9 level and progressing through to being offered a professional deal. It is a similar pathway that has seen Kyle Wootton emerge into United’s first team ranks.
