PLAYERS PRESENT COLLEGE AWARDS

Henderson and Bishop support North Lindsey at annual prizegiving

The North Lindsey College Annual Awards 2015 took place on the evening of Monday 21st September and Iron players Darius Henderson and Neal Bishop were invited along to present awards to winners of the awards.

The annual awards ceremony is held to recognise outstanding achievements across a variety of subjects and recognise those that have excelled. This year’s event had a Hollywood theme while the winner of BBC’s Young Apprentice 2012, Ashleigh Porter-Exley, was present to talk about her journey to the final of the TV show, as well as announce the winners throughout the evening.

Scunthorpe United sponsored the Outstanding Achievement Award in the Sport and Uniformed Services category which was won by former student Shannon Galvin who has now gone on to Northumbria University to study Sport and Exercise.

Pictured above are Neal and Darius, alongside Ashleigh Porter-Exley, North Lindsey College Principal, Anne Tyrell and Deputy Principal, Mick Iochran.

We’d also like to add our congratulations to Richard Coleman, Managing Director of R.J.Coleman Electrical Ltd, who picked up a lifetime achievement award from the college at the ceremony. Having started out on an apprenticeship, he now has a very successful business based in Glebe Road, Scunthorpe. Richard has long been associated with the football club through sponsorship and we’d like to join in congratulating Richard for his recognition.
