Heading to Roots Hall this weekend? Here is our travel guide for the game.
By Car...The journey should roughly take 3 hours and 51 minutes and the quickest way is to take the A15 for 19.4 miles until reaching a roundabout outside Lincoln which will lead to the A46, take the third exit at this roundabout and stay on the A46 until you reach the A1 ramp, where it is required that you take the second exit on the roundabout toward Grantham. Afterwards, merge onto the A1 and continue for 43.3 miles until continuing onto the A14 for 13.2 miles. Then keep right to continue on the M11 and follow signs for London. Using any of the two left hand lanes, merge onto the M25 toward Dartford. Then at junction 29, take the A127 exit to Southend and at the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto the A127 ramp to Southend. Merge onto Southend Arterial Round and continue to follow the A127 for 17.4 miles. Then at the two following roundabouts, take the second and third exits onto Prince Avenue and Victoria Avenue respectively. Three right turns are then required, firstly on West Street, Secondly onto Roots Hall Drive, then finally another right turn to stay on Roots Hall Drive. There is plenty of parking behind the away end, otherwise there is a car park at the ground behind the Main Stand which costs £5.
By Train...
It takes around 4 hours and 11 minutes from Scunthorpe to Prittlewell, which is the nearest station to the ground. If, for example, you were to take the 08:19 train (with three changes at Doncaster, a tube from London Kings Cross to London Liverpool Street and then a service to Prittlewell) it would get you there for 12:30. Roots Hall is about a five-minute walk away from Prittlewell, as you exit the station turn right, then you'll come to a crossroads with traffic lights. On your right is the 'Fish House'- pass this and then turn right. Walk about 100 yards and the ground is tucked away on the left hand side.
Coach Travel...
The price is £22 members and £23 non-members. The coaches leave from the following destinations: Ashby Broadway (8.30am), Museum (8.40am), Baths Hall (8.45am) and Glanford Park (9am).

Roots Hall...
United play their games at Roots Hall, a relatively old ground, built in 1955 with a capacity of 12,392, all of which are seated. The South Stand is the newest feature of the ground with it being built in 1994. Away fans are situated on one side of the North Stand, where up to 1,200 supporters can be located. However, if demand requires it, the whole stand can be allocated, allowing for 2,000 supporters to be housed. One good thing for away fans in the North Stand, is that comparatively few numbers of fans can really make some noise from it, making for a good atmosphere.
