FOCUSED AND DETERMINED TO BOUNCE BACK

11 September 2015

United loanee Murray Wallace says the squad have gone into training this week focused and determined to avenge last weekend's defeat to Blackpool.

He says the disappointment of the defeat has ensured that the training has been to a good standard, ahead of the visit of Coventry City.

"Training's been good this week, obviously we had a bit of a setback at the weekend and we're disappointed," he told The Iron PlayerHD.

"We've gone in really focused, really determined and we've trained well so far."

Looking back to that defeat to the Tangerines, the Scottish defender feels there was only team that looked to win the game.

He also stated that it's positive that the Iron are continuing to create chances, and it's just a matter of taking them when they come along.

"I felt like they came here and they were looking for the draw. We didn't capitalise on all the chances and possession that we had," he said.

"It'd be different if they'd taken the game to us and pinned us back, but they didn't and they didn't have any chances really.

"We had a lot of chances and it is important that we are still creating those opportunities. We've just got to do better with them now."

Wallace hasn't been at the club long, having joined only last month. However, he's enjoyed the short period of time which he's been at Glanford Park.

He revealed his delight to be playing regularly and says it's good to have a focus throughout the week.

"I'm delighted to be playing, it's good to have a focus point for your week," he revealed.

"When you're training throughout the week, it's good to know that you've got a game at the end of it and something to look forward to."

The man on loan from Huddersfield feels that Coventry will provide a stern test because of their positive start to the campaign.

The defender also drew attention to the fact that the encounter will provide a good chance for the squad to lay a marker down.

He said: "They've started well so their confidence will be high. They have a good squad of players so it'll be a good test and hopefully a good game of football.

"It's a great team to compete with and potentially set a marker down."
