Iron defender Scott Laird says to pick up three wins in a row, especially in the style in which they've done it, is brilliant.
Laird scored the equaliser in a 2-1 victory over Shrewsbury Town at Glanford Park and the full-back felt it was another positive display from he and his team-mates."It's brilliant to pick up three wins in the manner that we've done it. We've shown great character in every game," he told The Iron PlayerHD.
"It's another good, positive performance with lots of chances created.
"Even though we probably weren't very good in the first half, we still created a lot of chances."
When questioned about United's recent change in fortunes, Laird highlighted the fact that confidence is gradually finding it's way back into the side.
He insisted that this was key in things being turned around and was also quick to point out that the team are playing with a significantly greater amount of freedom.
"You can see the confidence is coming back, like it was in pre-season. We're in a nice little position, so we can really kick on," he said.
"Slowly, in the last three games we've seen lads expressing themselves, getting in good positions and being positive with their play."
Despite getting on the scoresheet, the defender was a little disappointed that he only managed to hit the back of the net on one occasion, after missing the target with two previous attempts.
He said: "I like scoring goals, obviously first I want to keep clean sheets, but I like to add to the team and get on the scoresheet.
"I think we could have had three, four or even five today. Especially myself, I should have scored at least more than one. I could have had a double hat-trick!."
Next up for the Iron is a trip to top of the table Gillingham on Tuesday, but in spite of the hosts' strong league standing, the former Preston man doesn't feel the challenge is too insurmountable.
"We're going to go there with great confidence. Against a team that are doing well, but a team that are not unbeatable," he stated.
"We want to express ourselves and give them a real good go."
