The Iron's U18 side were beaten 3-0 at Rotherham United on Saturday morning.

Jack Dyche went close to opening the scoring on 16 minutes but hit his shot against the post.

Moments later it was the Iron who conceded on 18 minutes when they didn't deal with a long throw-in to the box, and the Millers turned the ball home at the far post.

Dyche went close again on 30 minutes but put his effort wide of the goal.

De'Andre Watkis was forced off with injury so United had to reshuffle the team for the second half.

On 48 minutes, Rotherham went two up when a long shot found it's way through.

James Dean-Atkinson went close on 52 minutes for the Iron but failed to connect with his header.

On 81 minutes the home team made sure when they scored from a corner.

Academy manager Tony Daws said: "We had enough chances to win the game but we didn't take them.

"As a team, we are very disappointed to concede the goals in the manner that we did."
