NO FRESH WORRIES, ALL ON TRACK

15 October 2015

Manager Mark Robins has issued a brief injury update following last weekend’s 4-2 victory over Oldham Athletic.

Midfielder Luke Williams was uninvolved in the matchday squad, but continued his recovery with 80 minutes for the development side’s cup match against Notts County, just seven days after an hour against Rotherham United in the same competition.

Elsewhere, Murray Wallace was declared fit to play against Oldham last weekend, while Jamie Ness, Niall Canavan and Stephen Dawson all remain on track with their respective recoveries.

“Luke is in the final stages of his comeback,” he stated, speaking prior to Tuesday’s Development game.

“Hopefully he will come through the game okay and we will have seen more from him and then we’re hoping he will be closer to a return to the squad.

“There’s nothing new otherwise. We’ve got one or two players who have been given an extra breather due to the extra workload they’ve had, which is the way that we work and to particularly avoid the soft tissue injuries that can be picked up.

“They’ve worked really hard. Some have had the development game and I’m pleased with the way it is going at this moment in time.”
