On loan defender Murray Wallace says he and his Iron team-mates are delighted to have won three games on the bounce.
Scott Laird levelled the scores on 68 minutes after Shrewsbury had taken an early lead in the first half, before a 75th minute penalty from Paddy Madden sealed a 2-1 win.Wallace told The Iron PlayerHD he felt the team deserved the win: “It’s good to build on the two wins in a row and make that three now.
“I felt that we had a lot of chances and deserved the win.
“It shows a lot of character that we can go behind, get that setback, but come out stronger, control the game and come out on top.”
The Scot was pleased to see the Iron faithful getting behind their team, as the players piled forward looking to create chances in the game.
He said: “They’re behind us all of the time, but after the two wins I felt that they were really behind us today – and it was nice to win at home for them.”
With the chance to make it four wins out of four on Tuesday night in Gillingham, Wallace spoke of the importance of keeping the run going.
He added: “With all the leagues if you go on a good run and get a few wins you can jump from the bottom to the top, that’s why it’s so competitive and so good.
“I think we’ve changed our mind-set and have become more determined and resolute, and have the belief we can go on and win games.
“Even when results weren’t going our way we still looked forward to coming in and correcting it.
"When you get a win it gives you an extra bit of confidence – It’s like we are riding a wave of confidence.”
