Iron defender David Mirfin says it was massively disappointing to suffer a loss against Bradford City, given how well the team has played in the past six weeks.

United lost 2-0 to the Bantams, and Mirfin felt that the most disappointing aspect of the defeat was the fact the visitors performed how the Iron have in recent times.

"It was massively disappointing. We've not started how we'd like to or how we have been in the last six weeks or so," he told The Iron PlayerHD.

"Looking back at the game, I think Bradford have played how we have in that six week period and that's probably the most disappointing thing."

Mirfin highlighted the form of the past six weeks is something which the Iron can look to emulate, as they try to get back to winning ways.

"I don’t think we were far off it in terms of form going into this weekend and I think it was a good chance for us to test ourselves against a team which will be there or thereabouts," he said.

"I don't want to dwell on it too much, but the last six weeks we've hit a level where we know we can be at now, and we can hit week in week out."

He also stated the away clash with Bury on Tuesday night will provide an ideal chance for United to bounce back straight away.

"It's a bit of a cliché in football where you get a disappointing result on a Saturday and you only wish you had a game on the Tuesday to put things right and rectify it," he stated.

"We were saying that it's one of those games, where after it you've got to stick together as a group and not get too disappointed by the last two games. We know if we can hit the standards we have, it's a game we can win on Tuesday."
