LOOKING TO GO AS FAR AS WE CAN

1 November 2015

Iron defender Scott Wiseman says the team have shown that they can win in a number of ways over the past month.

The right-back was speaking after United's 2-0 victory over Barnsley - a win which takes the Iron up to ninth in the League One table.

"Over the course of the last month we've shown all different sides of us," he told The Iron PlayerHD.

"We knew if they got any confidence, they'd grow in the game. They're a good footballing side.

"We knew it was going to be a tough game, regardless of their run of form."

It's back-to-back clean sheets now for United and Wiseman feels the defensive unit he's part of has turned a corner.

He stated that the communication throughout the team was good and revealed that he can't remember a time when he played in a team which was so defensively sound.

"We were solid in the game, talking to each other. The communication was there, with Kingy (Jack King) and Bish (Neal Bishop) in midfield. I don't feel I've ever felt as solid in football," he said.

Next up for Wiseman and his team-mates is an FA Cup tie with Southend next Saturday at Glanford Park and it's a game which he's relishing.

The defender is hoping for a good run in the competition, after having past frustrations elsewhere.

"It's an enjoyable place to be when you're winning football matches, so I'm looking forward to the FA Cup," he stated.

"It's good to get a good cup run, I've only had one good cup run in my time. So we'll be looking to get as far as we can in that."
