EXPLORING VARIOUS OPTIONS

6 November 2015

After seeing two loan players recalled, Iron manager Mark Robins is looking to “explore various options” open to him.

Murray Wallace and Joe Lolley were both called back by parent club Huddersfield Town after Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Barnsley but, with the close return of a handful of Iron players and the opportunity for further loans, Scunthorpe won’t be short of options the next time they play in the league on November 14.

“There are some things open to me that I might pursue,” he told The Iron PlayerHD.

“There are some good players out there and we are looking to explore the various options that we may have. I’d like to thank Huddersfield for letting us have both Murray and Joe.

“The pair of them have been outstanding. They’ve been brilliant for us. Murray has obviously had more minutes, but the pair have been really good for us.

“We’re disappointed because they’ve been great, but they’re not our players and that’s the risk you run with loan players. Huddersfield have to do what’s best for them and first and foremost we have to thank them for letting us have them in the first place.

“They’ve been a big part of our transformation over the last six or eight weeks.

“There are other options out there and we also have players nearing a return. Some players will now have a chance to stake a claim for a starting position.”
