TRUST PRESENTED WITH £1,150

1 May 2015

A cheque for £1,150 has been presented to the Scunthorpe United Trust following another successful season from Iron fan Colin Sargeson.

He’s donated all of the proceeds from his Iron Bar pre-match raffle exploits to the Disability Football, a strand of the Scunthorpe United Trust to allow them to continue running the particular course.

He, his dad and Martin Harris presented the takings of £1,150 to Chief Executive of the Trust Lee Turnbull, with assistant manager Ned Kelly and defender Niall Canavan also present.

“All of the money is from what we take from Iron Bar Supporters from every matchday afternoon this season for a raffle that we run,” Colin explained.

“This is about the third season we have done it now. We haven’t got as much as we had last season, but we still managed to exceed £1,000, which is great to be able to present to Lee.”

Martin Harris continued: “We used to run the crossbar challenge and when we stopped doing that Colin decided to do a pre-match raffle in the Iron Bar.

“The Iron Bar Supporters put all of the money into this and we present it to the Trust at the end of the season.”

On behalf of the Scunthorpe United Sports and Education Trust, we would like to thank Colin for his hard work over the course of the season to raise this money, with donations like these allowing it to continue.
