SUOSC RAISE £365 FOR CHARITY WITH FANCY DRESS

6 May 2015

The Scunthorpe United Official Supporters Club raised £365 for charity on Sunday with their fancy dress fundraising scheme.

Iron fans were encouraged to wear Superhero themed costumes, which seemed fitting with the chosen charity being the LJS Foundation, which was set up by former United and Doncaster striker Billy Sharp and his wife to promote the awareness of gastroschisis.

There were a number of cowboys, Batmen and thunderbirds floating around the 1,600+ strong away following, as a number of Scunthorpe fans joined in the fun at the Keepmoat Stadium.

A whopping £196 of that total was raised at the SUFC awards dinner on Sunday evening, with raffle tickets bought in a bid to win match day captain Neal Bishop’s signed green third kit.

The supporters clubs’ travel secretary Karen Lee and her husband Dave were the lucky winners, with assurance from the on-looking crowd and Neal himself that everything was done fairly.

The SUOSC want to thank everyone for donating to the worthy cause through putting money in collection buckets, purchasing raffle tickets and pledging through their official Justgiving page.

We would like to say thank you to Karen Lee and her daughter Suzi Chapman for their hard work to raise money for the LJS Foundation, while Billy & Jade Sharp would also like to place on record their gratitude for their efforts.
