LESS MILES FOR IRON NEXT SEASON

24 May 2015

United fans will put in less miles following their team in Sky Bet League One next season - 466 less than in the last campaign in fact.

Last season, Scunthorpe travelled 5,736 miles both ways in the 23 regular away league games.

In 2015/16 though, supporters going to every away match will travel just 5,270 miles both ways.

The shortest trek of the campaign will be to Doncaster's Keepmoat Stadium, which is just 26 miles, while trips to Barnsley, Sheffield United and Chesterfield are below the 50-mile mark.

This year there are going to be 11 trips under 100 miles.

The longest away day of the campaign will be the 232 mile journey to Gillingham's Priestfield home.
