ANTHONY DELIGHTED TO JOIN THE 12TH MAN

8 May 2015

Lifetime supporter Anthony Strong has joined the 12th Man and has backed Scunthorpe United to go ‘all out’ in next season's League One campaign.

The 12th Man offers supporters other benefits for the upcoming season.

As always, fans will benefit from reserved seating for all league matches and first refusal for your seat for home cup matches along with priority tickets for away cup matches.

As an extra bonus, supporters will receive a free matchday magazine for all home league games.

All members of the 12th Man will receive a free copy of the new look award-winning matchday magazine and members will also receive 50p off the cover price of all our cup issues.

Anthony, who bought a season ticket with his son Stephen, explained his optimism for the future of Scunthorpe United.

He said: “I like the look of the set-up of what is going to happen. The chairman is ambitious and because Scunthorpe United is in my blood I will support them through thick and thin, you won’t hear me booing!

"As long as I see players coming off with a wet shirt I don’t mind. We’ve got a chairman in now who you can tell has the ambition in him. He’s got that bubbly personality and he can see things that Scunthorpe United haven’t seen in the past.

“You’ve got to get kids interested and I think this will! We need to start at the root, with families, and that’s very important.

“Next season we’ll go all out and I’m really looking forward to it. I just hope the players give their all, that’s all me and the supporters want, if you give your all then they’ll shout your name from the rafters of the stands all the time. I enjoy my football and I always will!”

The 12th Man package also gives supporters that buy a season ticket in the campaign prior to the opening of the new stadium priority in picking their new seats at the new home.

Anthony said he will be buying a season ticket when the Iron move into their new stadium and looked back at some of his memories he has experienced during his time of supporting Scunthorpe United.

He added: “We used to go in the kids entrance in the Doncaster Road end when I was about eight years old at Old Show Ground.

"I’ve been supporting the team a long, long while and I’ve seen some great players play here.

"I’ve seen Brian Clough score a hat trick against us, I saw Nat Lofthouse in the FA Cup get two goals there and I’ve always brought my family up to support the local football team, even though they like one or two other teams as well.”

There are three ways to purchase the 12th Man package. You can come to the ticket office at Glanford Park and purchase it in person, or you can order online via https://ticketing.scunthorpe-united.co.uk/ or you can call 0871 221 1899.
