SARGINSON HANDED DALE CLASH

19 March 2015

Christopher Sarginson will take charge of the Iron’s game at Spotland on Saturday.

The match between United and Rochdale will be the Staffordshire official’s 25th of the season.

Sarginson has dished out 73 yellow cards, brandishing three reds. His most recent dismissal came at the beginning of March, when he showed MK Dons’ Dean Lewington a red card in their 2-1 loss to Chesterfield.

His most recent fixture was in the Sky Bet Championship last week, as Bournemouth put four past Blackpool without reply, cautioning two players from each side.

Sarginson is yet to take charge of either Scunthorpe or Rochdale this term, despite refereeing across the Football League and JP Trophy.

In the whole of 2013/14, the official oversaw 31 matches, handing out 95 bookings and six red cards.

His last game involving Scunthorpe was in October 2013 at Glanford Park. Sam Winnall was the only scorer as United beat Hartlepool 1-0, with Niall Canavan receiving the only booking for the Claret and Blue. He kept his cards in his pocket during his last Rochdale match, which was a month later, as Keith Hill’s men lost 3-0 at Chesterfield in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Steven Copeland and Andy Scregg will be running the lines for Sarginson and his fourth official will be Christopher Akers.
