CLARK WILL REFEREE ON SATURDAY

5 March 2015

Richard Clark has been handed the job as head official for the League One clash between the Iron and Crewe at the Alexandra Stadium on Saturday.

This will be Clark’s 22nd game of the season so far, after refereeing fixtures ranging from the Championship, down to League Two. The official has also been in charge of games in the FA Cup and Capital One Cup.

So far this season, Clark has handed out 64 yellow cards during the games he has been involved in, whilst he has dished out four red cards so far this season, including the bizarre sending off of Kwame Thomas for Notts County as he was being substituted.

Clark has also refereed a game involving the Iron already this season, as he handed out four yellow cards during Scunthorpe’s 3-2 defeat to Oldham, three of those yellows going to Luke O’Neill, Andrew Boyce and Marcus Williams.

During his 30 games last season, Clark gave out 102 yellow cards and 12 red cards. He officiated the Iron twice last season. He handed out five yellow cards in the Iron’s 3-2 to AFC Wimbledon, and he also refereed the 2-0 defeat to Accrington Stanley, giving out four yellow cards and no red cards.

Clark will be assisted by Jason Tyas and Peter Wright, meanwhile Mark Astley will be the Fourth Official for the fixture.
