Saturday's home game against Sheffield United will see us celebrate Irish Iron Day, marking 20 years since the formation of the supporters' group.

Their sponsorship and contribution in spreading the word of United across the Emerald Isle has been greatly appreciated by the club over the years and we were honoured to dedicate the third kit for this season in their honour.

The Football League have granted us permission to wear that kit on Saturday afternoon to mark the day, and we hope Bernard Griffin and everyone from the Irish Iron has an enjoyable afternoon and evening with us.

We will be holding a party in the executive lounge at Glanford Park later on Saturday, with some special guests lined up to make an appearance. It should prove an entertaining and memorable night!

On the pitch this weekend, we will have the Scunthorpe Twirls putting on a performance ten minutes before kick-off, who are a group of six Irish dancers.

There is also a free sticker featuring Paddy Madden wearing the Irish Iron kit free with Saturday's matchday programme, while we are selling a special pack of five Irish Iron stickers in the club shop for just £1.

Meanwhile, 3,000 Irish Iron day posters are to be handed out to home supporters at the turnstiles and will be held up when the teams come out.

The matchday playlist will be all-Irish too, featuring Irish rock and folk classics.

Keep an eye out for the half-time draw too, which will feature some additional green shirt prizes. Tickets for that will be on sale for just £1.00 all around the stadium.

Join us at Glanford Park as we celebrate Irish Iron day - tickets can be bought now. Click here for details.
