YOU CAN SEE THE QUALITY THROUGHOUT

27 July 2015

Iron striker Paddy Madden says his side are full of confidence going into the new season.

Madden emphatically dispatched a penalty in the 1-1 draw against Bolton Wanderers at Glanford Park on Friday night and the Irishman believes that the result will give United a lift as they gear up to face Burton Albion on Saturday, August 8.

"It was another good result and it gives us confidence going into the season," he told The Iron PlayerHD.

"It was a fairly even game, but it's good to test ourselves against a Championship team."

Madden has been in prolific form so far this pre-season, finding the net five times in three games, and he spoke of the confidence he has in himself to score goals.

"I always have confidence in myself to score goals," he explained.

"Every goal gives a striker confidence and I hope to carry that on into the season."

Madden once again partnered Tom Hopper up front and spoke of how that partnership is developing.

"The two of us are working well up there and stopping teams getting out," he said.

"I'm confident playing up front in a two that I'll score goals."

There have been several new faces added to the squad over the summer and the Iron striker spoke of just how highly he rates the new additions at Glanford Park.

"The players that the chairman has brought in are magnificent signings and you can see the quality throughout the squad," he said.
