TEAM SPIRIT COMES FROM SHARED EXPERIENCES

14 July 2015

United manager Mark Robins believes his side’s trip to Marbella this week will galvanise the team spirit in the squad ready for the start of the season.

The side journeyed to southern Spain on Sunday morning and will remain there for seven days – a tour aimed to test the players and help them get to know each other after nine new arrivals to the club in the summer.

“Team spirit comes from shared experiences,” he told The Iron Player HD.

“We are making sure that we are together a lot of the time. There are some good players in there and there are some experienced footballers in there as well. They’ll galvanise everybody and we will come back having had a really good team week, I’m sure."

Trialist Nathaniel Mendez-Laing featured for the Iron in the first half of the 3-0 victory over Gainsborough Trinity was one of the players to journey out on the tour, with Mark stating it is still early days over his United future.

Robins added: “It is early days. We need to have a good look at him and he’s with us in Marbella so will be with us for at least the next week and then we will make a decision about him.”
