United have completed the signing of Middlesbrough attacker Luke Williams for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old pens a three-year contract and becomes our eighth arrival of the summer, joining Stephen Dawson, Jack King, Scott Wiseman, Isaac Assenso, Charlie Goode, Scott Laird and Tom Hopper in moving permanently to the Iron.

Williams enjoyed a loan period at Scunthorpe last season. He scored twice in six appearances and made a big impact in claret and blue, impressing in a spell which was cut short by injury.

He came through the ranks at the Riverside Stadium and made 42 appearances for them, scoring three times.

He also notched two goals in seven appearances during a loan spell at Hartlepool United the season before last. He finished off last term with loan spells at League One rivals Coventry City and Peterborough United.

Williams has also been capped at U17, U19 and U20 level for England.
