The Iron will be looking to make it ten games unbeaten with a win when we face Chesterfield on Tuesday night.

United take on the Spireites in the third round of the FA Cup at Glanford Park.

Prior to the 4-1 defeat earlier this season (which is best forgotten), our last away match against them was played at the Proact Stadium in November last year when Scunthorpe came from behind to draw 1-1. Luke Waterfall cancelled out Marc Richards' strike.

The last day in March 2012 saw Scunthorpe travel to the b2net stadium (now the Proact Stadium) for the very first time. Chesterfield were heading for relegation and thought they had a lifeline when Craig Westcarr powered them into an early lead.

Jordan Robertson restored parity seven minutes later before the visitors went on a second half onslaught, with Josh Walker, Robertson and Andy Barcham adding to their tally. Conor McAleny, on loan from Everton, also went close, with Robertson close to completing a hat-trick as Scunthorpe sought to add gloss to the scoreline.

It was a season in which both sides swapped league statuses, the teams were both drawn in the first round of the FA Cup. Chesterfield of League One journeyed to Glanford Park, the League Two outfit in what should have been a routine win for the Spireites, who brought along plenty of fans to cheer them along.

It was going to be a day for Scunthorpe though, as Paul Hayes found a way through to celebrate in front of the travelling supporters, to their disgust, whilst Ian Baraclough sealed the win in the second half with a long range left-footed strike. The Iron would beat higher opposition Wrexham, before they bowed out in round three to Premier League Chelsea.
