IRON 3/1 TO SEE OFF THE ROBINS

15 January 2015

Scunthorpe go into Saturday’s League One clash against Bristol City as underdogs, according to Football League sponsors Sky Bet.

The bookmakers are offering odds just shy of 3/1 for Mark Robins’ side to be victorious on Saturday, while the visitors are favourites at 10/11. The chances of a draw are registered at 13/5.

Bristol City currently lie second in the League One table, behind leaders Swindon merely by goal difference. Managed by Steve Cotterill, the Robins have lost just once in their last eleven games, winning nine of them. However, Scunthorpe remain unbeaten in their last seven league matches.

We have only failed to score in one of their last twelve games, while Bristol City have scored in 29 of their 33 fixtures this season. This is why Sky Bet assume it is more likely for both teams to get on the score-sheet in Saturday’s tie, offering odds of 4/6 for this to happen. On the other hand, it is 11/10 for one team to fail to break the deadlock.

The Iron to win by one goal is offered at 5/1, while Bristol City to achieve the same is 11/4. If you were to correctly guess that the game will finish goalless, you would multiply your stake by eleven.

The claret and blue are 3/1 to be winning at half time, whereas the opposition are 6/4. The bookies rate the chances of there to be three or more goals at 10/11, and for there to be less than three goals at 4/5.

Meanwhile, Scunthorpe remain outsiders to achieve a place in the playoffs by the end of the season at 12/1, while the Robins are 6/5 favourites to win the league. United’s in-form striker Paddy Madden is fifth-favourite to finish the campaign as League One’s top goalscorer at 22/1.
