IRON 14/5 TO WIN AT WALSALL

9 January 2015

The Iron travel to the Banks’s Stadium as underdogs at the weekend, according to the league’s official sponsor, SkyBet.

Despite losing just one in the last 14 matches (in all competitions), Mark Robins’ men travel to Walsall 14/5 to return to Lincolnshire with three points.

13th-placed Walsall, meanwhile, who lost 2-1 at Glanford Park in August, are evens for a home victory that could put them on the edge of the play-offs.

A draw with Dean Smith’s men, however, is 23/10 and there is over 50 other different betting options available on www.SkyBet.com/Scunthorpe, including the Iron to win 3-0, 3-1 or 3-2 at 16/1.

A 2-0 away victory is valued at 18/1 and a Scunthorpe win with both teams scoring is 7/1.

A double chance of Scunthorpe or draw is 8/11 and both teams to score is 5/6.

The Iron winning with a -1 goal handicap is 17/2 and both teams to score in the second half is 11/4.

A half-time draw and Scunthorpe win at full-time is 15/2, while top scorer Paddy Madden is the away team’s favourite to score.

The Irishman has scored 12 times in 29 appearances this season and Sky Bet value him at 13/2 to score first and 2/1 anytime. Lyle Taylor is 11/4 anytime, while Jennison Myrie-Williams and Gary McSheffrey are 3/1 and 7/2 anytime respectively.

Both Madden and Taylor to score in the match is 12/1 and Alex Davey, who scored his first professional goal in midweek, is 18/1 to score and win in the Sky Bet League One fixture.

The Saddlers’ top scorer Tom Bradshaw is favourite to score first in the fixture, at 4/1 and evens to score anytime. Ashley Grimes and Jordan Cook are 6/4 and 7/4 anytime respectively and both Madden and Bradshaw being on the scoresheet on Saturday afternoon is 6/1.

Elsewhere at the weekend, Oldham host Doncaster, Coventry and leaders Swindon will play at the Ricoh Arena on Friday and Yeovil travel to Barnsley.

Second-placed Bristol City welcome Notts County to Ashton Gate and Simon Grayson’s third-placed Preston will visit Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane.
