Referee Keith Hill has been given the job of head official as the Iron face Chesterfield in the FA Cup third round replay at the Proact Stadium.
This will be Hill’s 22nd game of the season, as he has refereed games from the Championship down to League Two, as well as fixtures in the FA Cup, Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and Capital One Cup.So far this season, Hill has dished out 69 yellow cards across his 21 games so far and has shown four red cards, including his last game on Boxing Day, where he sent off Tranmere’s Liam Ridehalgh midway through the first half, as they were defeated 2-0 by Burton.
Hill has already refereed the Iron once this season as he took charge of the game at Huish Park, as Scunthorpe levelled late on to claim a 1-1 draw with Yeovil in August. Kieffer Moore opened the scoring midway through the second half, before Paddy Madden equalised 10 minutes from time against his former club.
Hill dished out six yellow cards, three to Iron players as Neal Bishop, Billy Kee and Gary McSheffrey were all booked during the game.
In 35 games last season, Hill showed 136 yellow cards, but only gave out four red cards in that time.
Hill will be assisted by Matthew Donohue and Stephen Ross, whilst Christopher Kavanagh will be the Fourth Official for the fixture.
