Kevin Wright will be the man in charge when the Iron head to Deepdale to play Preston North End on Saturday.
Born in Cambridgeshire, Wright will referee United for the first time since the Carling Cup game with Reading earlier in the season, where an extra time goal from Jake Taylor meant that the Iron lost 1-0 on Nigel Adkins return to Glanford Park.He was also in charge for the Northampton game last season, which ended in a 1-1 draw with a Niall Canavan header being cancelled out by an equaliser from Zander Diamond.
The last game he refereed was the 1-1 draw between Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff City in the Championship, whilst he has given out 73 yellow cards and five reds in eight games so far this campaign.
Wright is one of the most experienced officials in the Football League, having refereed his first League game back in August 2003 – a 2-0 win for Southend against Cheltenham.
He will be assisted by Barry Gordon and David Storrie, whilst Ben Toner will act as Fourth Official.
