Well, we certainly turned a few heads in the transfer window!

I must first thank Mark, his team and Lee for the work and effort put in during the month. It was very tiring but, most of all, rewarding for all of us and the signings made have given the team a real competitive edge.

I would like to wish all the lads who have managed to get out on loan the best of luck as they try to regain fitness and form, and of course all who have joined us a happy and fruitful finish to the season.

With all the comings and goings it will take a while for the team to reach full potential, but we now have the basis to go and challenge for the best finish we can in this league. Only six points off a play-off place, with a couple of games in hand, it couldn't get more exciting - or could it?!

I believe this is becoming one of the best squads this club has assembled and we may not finish there - just can't wait until matchday.

Our final foray into the market place last week ended with the club signing Kevin Van Veen, a target we had identified earlier in the season - so much so he came to see us. Not only impressed with his goalscoring exploits, this guy can play!

It will take time for him to adjust, not only to the English game, but to life in England, so we must be patient with him and help him adapt over the coming weeks.

Whether he starts or is on the bench this weekend, he has given the club a real buzz and will not only compliment the excellent players we have, but give us more goalscoring options as we climb the table.

We really hope that some of those fans who have not been back to the club for one reason or another decide to return and support their local team.

This could be as exciting a finish to the season as this club has had and that is saying a lot!

I do not know how much more we can do to entice you back, but we are trying to do just that with the quality signings and the on-field improvement.

I promised to invest and improve the club's hopes and believe I have come through with that. Now to put that final piece of the jigsaw in place we want you, the fans, to come down and “enjoy the ride.”

The atmosphere has been getting better and better at GP and I do believe that helps the team and the management, it's great support and we do appreciate it.

We are working on some offers over the next few weeks, as the games come thick and fast, so watch this space.

Up The Iron!
