BULL HANDED TYKES CLASH

24 February 2015

Essex referee Michael Bull will take charge of tonight’s Sky Bet League One clash with Barnsley.

Bull has refereed 22 matches this term across the Football League, brandishing 58 yellows and sending off six players.

Two of those red cards came on Boxing Day, when Bull dismissed Bury’s Hayden White and Northampton’s Ivan Toney in a League Two fixture.

He is yet to referee the Iron or the Tykes in 2014/15, but he did oversee United’s 1-0 win over Torquay last term, where he sent off Torquay’s Jayden Stockley.

In total in 2013/14, Bull took charge of 24 matches, giving out 62 yellows and three reds.

Bull, from Chelmsford, first picked up a whistle in 1992 and he has since progressed up the footballing ladder.

He spent three-and-a-half years as a Premier League linesman before becoming the main man in the middle.

The Glanford Park match kicks off at 7.45pm and Bull will be assisted by Graeme Fyvie and Ryan Johnson, with Alan Clayton acting as his fourth official.
