Iron forward Kyle Wootton says everyone in the squad is buzzing with the tie which awaits them after defeating Leyton Orient in an FA Cup second round replay at Glanford Park.
United set up the mouthwatering clash with Chelsea thanks to a 3-0 victory over the O's, and Wootton feels things couldn't have gone much better."We're absolutely buzzing with the tie we've got. It couldn't have gone much better," he told The Iron PlayerHD.
"Stamford Bridge, the Premier League champions. You couldn't ask for much more really. Everyone is buzzing and can't wait."
The visitors frustrated United in the first half, but patience paid off and Wootton feels the first goal really set them on their way.
"In the first half we didn't really get going, we took our time, playing it about, but we didn't really penetrate forward," he said.
"In the second half, after we got the first goal, that was it. It got us going and all the team, every player was on it."
But despite the adulation which Tuesday night's success brought, the striker insists the clash at Stamford Bridge must be put on the backburner now.
The Iron have four league fixtures over a busy Christmas period before the third round tie, and Wootton feels the focus shouldn't shift from a play-off push.
"We've got to concentrate on the league now and put it to the back of our minds," he stated.
"We know it's obviously coming up, but we've got to concentrate on the league, and climb into the play-offs hopefully."
Next up for us is Saturday's game with Sheffield United at Glanford Park, an encounter which Wootton feels carries big significance.
However, he doesn't think there's any need to fear Nigel Adkins' side, as the confidence in the squad is high after progressing on Tuesday.
"It's a big game, a big club and everyone knows it. They're always a good side," he continued.
"But at home, when we're on song we can beat anyone, and we know a great 3-0 win at home means we can take confidence into the game.
"Hopefully we can keep the form going, keep winning, keep bringing the points in and keep the momentum going."
