DONALD AND POLLOCK JOIN CHARITY WALK

14 December 2015

Another cricketing hero has joined Sir Ian Botham and Iron Chief Executive Officer James Rodwell on their charity trek today (December 12).

The retired South African fast bowler Allan Donald joined in Saturday's part of the walk, which encompassed Stellenbosch.

There was a different kind of start for the group today, in the rain from a township - which was character building stuff!

Monday morning saw another former South African cricketer, bowling all-rounder Shaun Pollock join the charity walk. The addition complimented another 25km walk before another flight to Johannesburg.

With Iron Chairman Peter Swann having to withdraw due to injury, James has stepped in to raise funds for Beefy's Charity Foundation, set up by the Scunthorpe United Vice-President in 2013.

This mammoth trek will take in most of South Africa’s prime locations and stunning scenery, covering well over 100km.

You can donate to the charity trek and support James by visiting https://www.justgiving.com/JamesRodwellSUFC.

This walk, from December 10 to 17, will mark the celebration of Sir Ian's 60th Birthday and the 30th anniversary of his first ever walk from John O’Groats to Lands End in 1985.

More information can be found on the http://www.beefywalkingtherainbownation.com/ website. You will also be able to follow the walk on Twitter via @BeefyWalks and the walk is also using the #BeefyWalkSA across social media platforms.
