BOSS READY FOR BLADES CLASH

18 December 2015

United manager Mark Robins says despite the FA Cup third round tie which awaits against Chelsea, the Iron must focus on the four upcoming League One fixtures.

Starting with Sheffield United on Saturday, Robins hopes his players can build on a positive performance against Leyton Orient, and take all three points against the Blades.

"It was a great win, and a great victory because it gives us a chance to go down to Stamford Bridge. It was brilliant for everyone connected with the club," he told The Iron PlayerHD.

"We've got to park it now and concentrate on what we're doing up to the weekend. Because there's a local derby coming.

"Hopefully we can give them a tough time. We know they're a big scalp and we're looking to try and take a big scalp and build on what we did in the second half the other night."

Saturday's clash will see Blades boss Nigel Adkins return to Glanford Park, and Robins is ready to welcome the former Iron manager back.

However, he doesn't feel there's any room for sentiment, as his players will be looking for another positive result and performance.

"It's a great game for us, it's a good game for them. I think Nigel will be looking forward to coming back," he said.

"It's his old stomping ground where he's had some success and for us it's another opportunity to take a bigger scalp."

Robins feels everyone will go into the match full of confidence after the victory against the O's,while also stating it's a great opportunity to build on a positive display and build some momentum.

"We come into it with some confidence from the game on Tuesday night, and the performance, because it was good," he stated.

"So we've got to hold onto it and try and build on it by getting a result on Saturday."
