Kevin Wright will be the referee for the Iron's visit to Burton Albion on the opening day of the season this Saturday.

Wright, 45, last took charge of a United game back in February of this year, as Mark Robins' side lost 2-0 away at Preston. As well as the match at Deepdale, Wright was the man with the whistle as the Iron suffered defeat at home to Reading in the Capital One Cup in August.

The man from Cambridgeshire showed 99 yellow and five red cards throughout last season, with a flurry of dismissals in three consecutive games towards the back end and the new year.

Wright refereed games in the Championship, League One and League Two last season, so he's sure to provide a wealth of experience in what promises to be an exciting encounter.

He will be assisted by Dumitru Ravel Cheosiaua and Stephen Wade, with Peter Gibbons taking up the role of Fourth Official Peter Gibbons.
