United striker Darius Henderson says the team will be looking to improve on Saturday's draw with Millwall when they visit Colchester United this weekend. The Iron had the chances to take all three points in the game against the Lions, but Henderson feels there were many positives to take from the draw.
"It's not the start that we wanted, but I think that was a positive performance all round from the team and one we'll be looking to improve upon on Saturday," he told The Iron PlayerHD.
"If you look at the game, you'd see that there's been improvements, I think the balance to our play was much better and we had chances to win the match.
"Hopefully we can get that vital win on Saturday and kick on from there."
Henderson, who joined the club a month ago, made his first start on Saturday and the striker says it was important to get some minutes under his belt.
He also paid tribute to all the people at the club who've helped him settle in with such ease.
"It was good to get my first start for the club, it was much needed," he said.
"Personally I feel good, I'm just looking to improve on Saturday if selected.
"It's a great group of lads, the manager, the staff around the manager can't do enough for you. So they've definitely helped me settle in really well."
Looking ahead to this weekend's trip to Colchester, Henderson feels that the previous performance can be used as a stepping stone as the Iron look for their first away points of the season.
"If you look at the game, you'd see that there's been improvements, I think the balance to our play was much better and we had chances to win the game," he explained.
"It's unfair to say that they didn't have any chances, but on the whole, I feel we did enough to win the game.
"We've had a good week's training, we're trying to build on Saturday's draw and, for those that attend, hopefully we can put on a good performance."
