Scunthorpe United can confirm striker Paddy Madden has signed a new three-year-deal with the club.

The Irishman joined the Iron in January 2014, midway through the team’s campaign in League Two, with him subsequently scoring five important goals on the way to United’s promotion back to League One at the first attempt.

The 25-year-old added a further 17 goals to his Scunthorpe tally last season, including one against his former club Yeovil Town and a magnificent brace which saw us win against Barnsley at Oakwell for the first time in 55 years.

A real fans favourite, Paddy found the net on seven occasions in pre-season which included a hat-trick in a 4-0 victory over Hartlepool United.

His new deal will run until the summer of 2018.
