JOHNSON HANDED CRAWLEY CLASH

10 April 2015

Kevin Johnson will officiate the League One clash between the Iron and Crawley Town at Glanford Park on Saturday.

Born in Somerset, Johnson has already refereed United this season, taking charge of the 1-1 draw between Scunthorpe United and Coventry in February. Gary McSheffrey gave the Iron a first half lead in that game before a last minute Marcus Tudgay equaliser stopped United from taking all three points at the Ricoh Arena.

The last game he refereed was the 1-1 draw between Chesterfield and Crewe on Easter Monday, where he handed out just two yellow cards.

Overall, he has handed out 80 yellow cards and five reds in 24 games so far this campaign, with his last sending off coming in the game between Bury and Oxford United last month.

This is currently his first season in the Football League, having been promoted following officiating at non-league level since the 2008/09 season.

He will be assisted by Alf Greenwood and Gary Hilton, whilst Nick Hobbis will act as Fourth Official.
